Abstract:
Several databases form the heart of Exchange Server. Good disk I/O performance is essential to get the best out of Exchange and mandatory if you are interested in building massive servers to host thousands of users. Even on the smaller servers, paying attention to I/O, understanding where it comes from and how to control it helps to get the best out of your hardware. This session analyzes the sources of I/O on an Exchange server and explains how to tune both hardware and software to get maximum performance.
