Abstract:
This seminar will be given in two parts. Part I spans three and a half hours. It is aimed at system administrators with little or no knowledge of TruClusters. It introduces TruCluster and TruCluster Production Server. It provides an overview of hardware and software necessary to support TruClusters. Part I culminates with hands-on labs in which the participants configure the hardware and software for a TruCluster Production Server. Part II assumes a basic understanding of TruCluster Production Server. TruCluster Version 1.6 makes its applications highly available through the paradigm of services. Part II presents services. It starts with the theory of the five basic types of services: NFS, disk, user-defined, distributed raw disk and tape. It then describes how to write services.
