Abstract:
This talk will highlight the performance characteristics that iMSC Corporation discovered in their joint research with the National Center for Atmospheric Research, with different types of loads on Alpha Processors. The information will include some amazing discoveries during testing at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Livermore Labs and other supercomputer centers. What the results mean to user productivity will be discussed. The talk will also provide a description of the applications and configurations used, the compilers used, and comparative timings for Compilations on workstations as well as with large cluster parallel processor runs of the resulting applications. Comparisons will be made to Cray OS and compilers, IRIX and AIX and IBM's SP supercomputers.
