Abstract:
Compaq Tru64 UNIX has two streams of development - V4.x and V5.x. The design center is V5.x which includes efficient scaling with more CPUs, very large memory support, increased file and storage limits, enhanced device support, event management tools and improved installation and system management. We are working on a V4.0G release that will support 16 processor AlphaServer hardware. This session will be an in-depth discussion on these enhancements and more.

Objectives:
Attendees will understand the support in V4.0G for AlphaServers and they will know/learn after attending the session how V5.0, V5.0A scales to large configurations
 
Attendees will learn how Tru64 UNIX improves performance in many areas including file systems, storage management, and networking
 
Attendees will learn how it simplifies installation, setup and system management, enhances reliability, availability and serviceability and they will learn support for future versions of TruCluster and Event Management tools  

Prerequisites for attendees:
