Abstract:
With the planned release of PATHWORKS V6.0C in the 2nd half of 1999, customers running PATHWORKS V5 on OpenVMS V6.2 will now be able to migrate and upgrade to PATHWORKS V6.0C on OpenVMS V6.2. This session provides an in-depth study of the tool available for migrating from your PATHWORKS V5 environment to V6. It discusses the similarities and differences between V5, V6 and Advanced Server V7.2 with an eye toward migration. It also outlines the areas of special interest to achieve a smooth migration from V5 to V6 and from V5 into an NT domain. Information presented in this session is relevant to all PATHWORKS V5 to V6 upgrade scenarios, not just PATHWORKS V6.0C on OpenVMS V6.2 In addition, topics relevant to upgrading to Advanced Server for OpenVMS V7.2 as well as licensing will be covered.

Objectives:
Understand the differences between PATHWORKS V5, V6, and Advanced Server for OpenVMS V7.2
 
Learn how to prepare and actually do the upgrade to PATHWORKS V6 or Advanced Server V7.2
 
Learn how to manage your licenses in the new environment  

Prerequisites for attendees:
Prior knowledge of PATHWORKS Servers or NT

Required Skill Level:
Intermediate
