Abstract:
With the planned release of PATHWORKS V6.0C in the 2nd half of 1999, an entirely new group of PATHWORKS users will be able to migrate from PATHWORKS V5 to PATHWORKS V6. PATHWORKS V6.0C will bring the PATHWORKS V6 product to the OpenVMS V6.2 customer base, thus opening the door for OpenVMS V6.2 customers to migrate from PATHWORKS V5 to V6. This hands-on seminar will provide the student with the opportunity to actually perform the installation of PATHWORKS V6.0C, and then perform an upgrade of a PATHWORKS V5.0 environment to a PATHWORKS V6.0 environment. This will include using the PATHWORKS V6 upgrade utility to upgrade print services, file services, users, groups, and fat file services. After successfuly upgrading the PATHWORKS server from V5 to V6, the student will then promote the PATHWORKS V6 server from a Backup Domain Controller to a Primary Domain Controller of an NT domain using the NT server manager. The student will also create a trust between the PATHWORKS for OpenVMS server and a different NT Domain. In addition, the student will learn how to configure licenses using the new V6 license manager.

Objectives:
Upgrad a PATHWORKS V5 server to a PATHWORKS for OpenVMS (Advanced Server) Version 6.0

Configure a multi-domain resource environment using trusts, user shares and common public resources.

Manage PATHWORKS Licenses in the PATHWORKS V6 environment.
