Abstract:
This workshop is for advanced VMS users that require an understanding of the System Dump Analyzer (SDA) and VMS process to an internals level. The format of this workshop will be hands-on. First, we will go over basic SDA commands. Then we will discuss process internals. The remainder of the workshop will be using SDA to examine various aspects of the process internals. This session will cover process internals and scheduling. Process internals topics covered will include: Introduction to the System Dump Analyzer, Process Creation, Process Data Structures, Process Data Structure Relationships, Kernel Threads, Locating Process Data Structures, SYSGEN Parameters Related to Process Data Structures, What is Mapped in Process Virtual Address Space, Analyzing Process Data Structures Using SDA.
