Abstract:
Today's interconnected enterprise is an environment with many benefits and many hazards. No longer is it possible to lock your users and servers behind a door and be secure. Today's enterprises rely upon firewalls and proxy servers to control access to internal and external resources and activities, both for internal and external users. Selecting and configuring firewalls can be a difficult process. We will examine the different technologies and issues which need to be addressed. Topics covered will include: Firewalls; Proxy Servers; IP Addressing; Caching and Performance; Hidden and Private networks; Name Services; Tunnels and Virtual Networks; Redundancy and Availability.

Objectives:
Understand firewall architectures
 
Understand Internet security issues
 
Be in a position to evaluate or design a security structure for their organization  

Prerequisites for attendees:
A general knowledge of Internet related concepts is presumed.
