Abstract:
This technical session gives examples of how COM technology can be used to create multi-tier applications that run on OpenVMS and Windows NT. Discussion of the OpenVMS Registry will be included in this session. Case studies from customers using early versions of COM will be covered. Real code examples and a demo will be included.

Objectives:
Understand basic COM for OpenVMS offering
 
Understand underlying precepts for building COM applications
 
Understand COM for OpenVMS future strategy  

Prerequisites for attendees:
Partcipant should have basic knowledge of building COM objects.

Required Skill Level:
Intermediate
