Abstract:
The Java programming language is designed to allow users to deploy Java applications on any platform that implements the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). The Java Development Kit (JDK), which includes the Java Virtual Machine, is available today on OpenVMS Alpha. This how-to session is designed to acquaint users with the JDK on OpenVMS Alpha and will highlight considerations to be addressed when deploying Java applications on OpenVMS. After attending this Workshop participants should be able to deploy Java applications on any platform that implements the Java Viritual Machine (JVM) Topics Covered - Java Viritual Machine (JVM) - The Java Development Kit (JDK) Who Should Attend: Webmasters, application designers, programmers, tech support

Objectives:
Deploy Java applications on any platform that implements the Java Virtual Machine (JVM).
 
Learn about the JDK on OpenVMS Alpha
 
Highlight considerations to be addressed when deploying Java applications on OpenVMS.  

Prerequisites for attendees:
Knowledge of programming languages, application development, HTML, Knowledge of web technologies

Required Skill Level:
Intermediate
