Abstract:
Archive/Backup System V3.0 introduces a new method of scheduling its backup jobs. ABS V3.0 uses the OpenVMS queue manager as the default but it also provides the ability to use external schedulers. This session will review ABS and then co-presenter Guenther Froehlin will present details of the scheduling options as well as changes to the MDMS portion of ABS.

Objectives:
Understand how ABS schedules it jobs
 
Be able to customize ABS to use other schedulers
 
Understand the new changes with ABS V3.0  

Prerequisites for attendees:
none

Required Skill Level:
Intermediate
